The Creative Crafts Council is an umbrella organization of fine craft guilds in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The CCC sponsors a juried biennial exhibition that is open to any artist residing in these areas, to all members of any sponsoring guild regardless of residence, and to any students attending school in these areas.
The first Biennial Exhibition (in 1954) and the next five, were held in the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of Natural History. Since then, the Exhibition has been held at museums and galleries throughout the region.
The Creative Crafts Council’s 27th Biennial Exhibition will be held at The Mansion at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland in the Spring of 2009.
Our sponsoring Guilds are the National Capital Art Glass Guild, the Ceramics Guild, Montgomery Potters, Washington Guild of Goldsmiths, The Kiln Club, Potomac Polymer, National Enamellist Guild, Potomac Craftsmen Guild, and the Fiber Arts Study Group. Also, be sure to check out the James Renwick Alliance. |
